Dear families and friends of room 104,
This past week children received a corrected field trip form to see the movie Beauty and the Beast on Friday, March 31st. Please be sure to fill in all of the information on the form before it is submitted with the money. Forms will be returned this week if they need additional information. All forms and money must be received by this Wednesday. Please send me a message or stop by the room if you need additional forms or information.
Kindergarten children received SAT practice packets this week. Parents are encouraged to read the problems to the children and discuss any problems that are a challenge. If your child is ESOL, translations may be provided. If children can read the problems independently, just be sure that the problems are being answered correctly and in order.
This past week we had an amazing presentation from a student, a parent and a classroom volunteer. A student from room 105 brought in a baby alligator that his family rescued from a bird attack. The alligator visited the classrooms before heading to its new home in the Everglade's Outpost. One of our dads talked about plant research in Tunisia and Ethiopia and shared photos from his trips. The children appeared mesmerized with his tales. On Friday afternoon Ms. Miriam shared amazing activities to accompany the story, "This Jazz Man".
Next week we look forward to continuing studies in Asia. We have enjoyed reading stories such as "The Empty Pot" and "Fu Finds A Way". We will continue locating countries and sharing stories.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Ms. Joanna Boone
