Our Black History luncheon was a wonderful event! Many thanks to all of the families that shared special dishes, items, and their time in making this event a success. The children enjoyed sharing a delicious meal together and thanking their guests with "The Thank You Song" by Gaye Adegbalola. If you would like to hear more Blues by Gaye, check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sUj7qnRvDs
During the week the children created a classroom quilt that we had on display for the luncheon. The quilt was inspired by the story, "The Patchwork Quilt". The fabric came from old shirts. Each child decorated a square in a way to share something that was important to them. Together it made a wonderful quilt which we will keep on display for the next month. We look forward to reading more books from Central and Southern Africa and meeting some feathery friends next week.
Have a great weekend,
Ms. Joanna Boone
