Dear friends and families of room 104,
Many thanks to all of the support with our annual water day event. The children loved getting wet, hitting water balloons, sliding around on a baseball slip n' slide, making art, playing with the parachute, feeling shaving cream suds, and all of the other activities that were planned for the day. Although the event lasted a little shorter than expected, we had plenty of fun under the sun. By the time we had lunch and ended the day with another tale about Strega Nona, we were all ready for a good rest.
Our classroom has volunteered to host the summer camp program and will not need to be wrapped up like the others. This means that the children will be able to use the materials completely until Thursday, the last day of school.
If you still need volunteer hours you are welcome to help us clean the classroom on Friday morning or contact me for other ideas.
Our end-of-the-year ceremony will be this Wednesday at 8:30 in our classroom. Children may wear non-uniform clothes for the ceremony, but should have a change of uniform if they plan to stay for the rest of the day. Our ceremony will take place in the classroom and outside by our peace pole, so please be prepared in case of light rain.
Following the ceremony parents may share snacks in a potluck style as we take a look back at the year with a quick slide show.
Thursday is another no uniform day! Please be sure to gather all of your child's belongings before leaving on Thursday - spare clothes, notebooks, papers, and only kindergarten children may take home their timelines.
Have a safe and relaxing summer!
Ms. Joanna Boone
