Friday ended with a quick introduction of India and a short presentation of Bollywood by Ms. Regalado. She first modeled a short dance and then showed us a few moves that are classic to the Bollywood dip. It made a few children chuckle, but amazing to see how many were willing to join in the movement! With the Spring break fast approaching, we hope you save time for dance.
Earlier in the week we were visited by three special young guests. The children were eager to meet these strangers that arrived in a cardboard box. There was a lot of excitement, and the children were able make their bodies quiet in order to meet them. Many thanks for the family that brought them into school and shared their feathery presence with us.
Before we prepare the room for Spring break, we are looking for parents to help us with Spring cleaning. Please see Ms. Boone if you need more volunteer hours and would like to help with classroom cleaning from 2:15-4 any day next week.
There will be no school next Friday for the teacher workday. If you plan to spend the break time traveling, please send us a postcard from wherever you may travel. We can share the cards as they arrive in the mail.
On Thursday April 2nd we are planning a field trip to Butterfly World in Ft. Lauderdale. We will need car seats for all children under the age of 6, (which is the majority of our students). We will send out permission slips once we return from the break.
As the study of Asia continues, you may have seen a few origami items come home in the past few days. We are also collecting origami creations as wishes and hopes to fill us a vase. Feel free to share any creation with our classroom collection.
Below are many photographs taken over the past week. The stories that we are finding with the movable alphabet are becoming more interesting as the year continues. The math materials continue to be used with comparisons and connections to the other works in our classroom. Our practical life activities have given us a chance to practice using chopsticks and create a miniature Zen garden. May the break be filled with lots of rest and more daily discoveries!
Kind regards, Ms. Joanna Boone
