This year's annual Peace March was a great success. We managed stay dry as we marched and sang around the school. We enjoyed the presentations featuring Daisaku Ikeda, the Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Marc Chagall & Bella Rosenfeld, and Hapsa Khan.
We prepared for the week by creating dream clouds, coloring rangolis, and making signs for the march. We will keep up the dream clouds throughout this month and we hope you can pass by the classroom to see them.
Be sure to sign up for Skipple in order to submit photos for our classroom's yearbook page.
Tomorrow is a teacher workday and we will set up new materials to take us from our studies of Polar regions to the continent of Africa. If you would like to share a cultural experience related to Africa at this time, be sure to send me an e-mail.
Towards the end of last week it was clear that the children were very interested in sharing about their experiences with marine life. Our week ended with a story called, "Dancing With Manatees". We will continue differentiating marine mammals from fish this week.
Have a wonderful Teacher Workday!
